The Blackhawks have been linked to veteran goaltender Roberto Luongo, who would need to accept a trade by the Vancouver Canucks, though Bowman declined to comment on the reports.
Bowman and his staff have been focused on the club's prospect camp, but should an opportunity arise, he'd welcome it. The Blackhawks are among the teams interest in Phoenix Coyotes captain Shane Doan, an unrestricted free agent.
"We've talked to a number of players and their agents," Bowman told the Tribune. "Anytime we can improve our team, we're going to look at it, whether it's a free-agent signing or trade."
Doan, who has interest from numerous teams, is waiting to see if the Phoenix Coyotes' ownership picture becomes a little clearer before opting to leave the team and sign with another club.
