Hawks continue search for center
TheFourthPeriod.com

Chicago Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman wants to get his hands on a second-line center before the trade deadline kicks in on Monday at 3pm ET.

Bowman has been contacting several teams in an attempt to locate a center, as he appears willing to move draft picks and prospects.

It appears, however, that he's somewhat reluctant to move any first-round draft picks, a league executive told TFP.

It has been widely reported that the Blackhawks are interested in Buffalo Sabres center Derek Roy, however Bowman is also believed to be eyeing Toronto Maple Leafs center Mikhail Grabovski.

The Leafs are not actively looking to trade Grabovski, who can become an unrestricted free agent this July, but they've received interest in him, with the Blackhawks one of the teams going after him.

Chicago was rumored to be interested in Antoine Vermette, but the Columbus Blue Jackets traded him to the Phoenix Coyotes earlier today.
