Campoli could return to Chicago TheFourthPeriod.com
The Chicago Blackhawks are in need of a No. 4 or No. 5 defenseman and they could look to a familiar face to acquire the help as the trade deadline draws near, the Edmonton Journal reports.
At the trade deadline a season ago, the Hawks had acquired Ottawa Senators blueliner Chris Campoli, who was let go in the summer given that the club could not afford to keep him in Chicago.
Now a member of the Canadiens in Montreal, the 27-year old is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and could easily fit back in the Hawks’ system in time for a run at a Stanley Cup.
In 13 games with the Habs, Campoli has tallied one goal and one assists, has become a healthy scratch for several contests and would more than likely welcome a change of scenery.
