It appears Cristobal Huet's time with the Chicago Blackhawks is nearing its end, as a published report claims he's set to join Fribourg-Gottéron of the Switzerland National League A.
According to Swiss news outlet 20 Minutes, Huet will be loaned to Fribourg-Gottéron at a rate worth between $288,000 and $577,000.
Huet has two-years left on his contract with Chicago at an annual cap hit of $5.625 million.
It's uncertain what salary Huet will earn with Fribourg-Gottéron.
While a deal is expected, Huet's agent, Steve Bartlett, told TFP Editor-in-Chief David Pagnotta this morning that nothing has been finalized.
In 48 games with the Hawks last season, Huet posted a 26-14-4 record with a 2.50 goals-against-average and a .895 save percentage, becoming the first France-born player to win the Stanley Cup.
