Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman maintained his belief in his two netminder yesterday by not acquiring another goalie, the Chicago Tribune reports.
It had been widely reported that the Hawks were trying to acquire another starting goalie to replace the tandem of Cristobal Huet and Antti Niemi.
The Blackhawks were believed to be interested in Florida's Tomas Vokoun, Montreal's Jaroslav Halak and Dallas' Marty Turco.
"I've been saying all along I believe in these two," Bowman told the Tribune. "They've been here and gotten us to this point. I think our goaltending has been strong all year long. On balance, you have to look at the whole season and I think it hasn't been a problem for us.
"You don't reach this point by luck. … There's a reason we are where we are."
Bowman admitted to being very active on trade deadline day, but indicated that he was "not real close" to pulling the trigger on any trades.
