The Chicago Blackhawks have signed unrestricted free agent center John Madden to a one-year, $2.75 million contract.
Madden, 36, joins Marian Hossa and Tomas Kopecky as the Blackhawks free agent signees today.
In 76 games with the New Jersey Devils last season, Madden registered seven goals and 16 assists for 23 points, along with 26 penalty minutes.
Madden has spent his entire nine-year NHL career in New Jersey. Over his career, he has accumulated 140 goals and 157 assists for 297 points in 712 games, to go along with a plus-35 rating.
