Blackhawks trade Lapointe to Ottawa TheFourthPeriod.com
The Chicago Blackhawks have traded forward Martin Lapointe to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Lapointe, 34, had appeared in 52 games for the Blackhawks scoring three goals and four assists for seven points with 47 penalty minutes.
The two-time Stanley Cup champion has played 973 career NHL games over parts of 16 seasons with Detroit, Boston and Chicago, and has recorded 178 career goals, 197 assists, 375 points and 1,394 penalty minutes.
