Report: Blackhawks to host next outdoor game? TheFourthPeriod.com
If the Chicago Blackhawks had their way, they'll be hosting the NHL's next outdoor game as early as next season, sources have told TFP.
Members of the Blackhawks recently spoke with league officials in New York to discuss the possibility of hosting the game at Soldier Field, home to the NFL's Chicago Bears.
According to sources, the league has not decided when and where it will hold another outdoor regular-season game, but the Hawks are believed to be a leading candidate.
If Chicago is awarded the event, the team could face off against Original Six rival Detroit Red Wings.
The Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers and Toronto Maple Leafs have also expressed an interest in hosting an outdoor game.
