Blackhawks to replace Daze?

TheFourthPeriod.com

According to the Chicago Tribune, it is very possible winger Eric Daze may never play again due to back injuries that could force him to retire at the age of 30.

Daze is the longest-tenured Hawk, but Chicago can't afford to take up the roster and salary spot if he can't make a significant contribution.

The Blackhawks have attempted to help their cause by adding the likes of Andy Hilbert, Patrick Sharp and Radim Vrbata, but the Tribune suggests they may need to take a risk and complete a significant change if they hope to turn their season around.

Meanwhile, if Daze's career does end, the paper claims the Hawks should find a home for him somewhere in the organization, if he wants it.
