Flames sign first-rounder Bennett

The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed 2014 first-round draft pick Sam Bennett to a three-year, entry-level contract.

The Flames selected Bennett with the fourth overall pick, the highest Calgary has ever picked, in the 2014 NHL Draft.

The Toronto native played 57 games with Kingston of the OHL during the 2013-14 season, recording 36 goals and 55 assists for 91 points while accumulating 118 penalty minutes.
