Flames re-sign defenseman Brodie

The Calgary Flames have re-signed restricted free agent defenseman T.J. Brodie to a two-year, $2.125 million contract.

Brodie, a native of Chatham, ON, played 47 games last season with the Flames, recording two goals and 12 assists for 14 points.

Prior to joining the Flames for the truncated season, he appeared in 35 games for Calgary's AHL team, the Abbotsford Heat, notching another 20 points.

Brodie will earn $1.75 million next season and $2.5 million in 2014-15.

He was originally drafted by the Flames in the fourth-round (114th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
