Flames sign Joseph

The Calgary Flames have signed unrestricted free agent goaltender Curtis Joseph.

Joseph, 40, had considered offers from the New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs before accepting a deal with the Flames.

In 913 career NHL games over 17 seasons, Joseph has posted a 446-341-95 record with a career 2.78 goals-against-average and a .907 save percentage.

Joseph inked a one-year, $1.5 million contract, but with half the season already in the books, he will earn $650,000 this year.
