Blue Jackets re-sign Tyrell

The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed restricted free agent forward Dana Tyrell to a one-year, two way contract for the 2014-15 season.

As is club policy, financial terms were not disclosed.

Tyrell, 25, played in seven games with the Tampa Bay Lightning last season, but spent most of his time (63 games) in the AHL with the Springfield Falcons and Syracuse Crunch.

He has recorded seven goals and 17 assists for 24 points, and 119 penalty minutes in 132 career NHL games, all with the Lightning .

Tampa Bay selected Tyrell in the second round, 47th overall, of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
