Prout inks two-year extension

The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed defenseman Dalton Prout to a two-year contract extension.

Prout, 24, has scored three goals and added 10 assists for 13 points in 82 career NHL games, all with Columbus.

Last season, Prout tallied two goals and four assists for six points in 49 games, finishing seventh on the Jackets in blocked shots (65).

Prout, a native of Kingsville, Ontario, was selected by the Blue Jackets in the seventh-round, 154th overall, of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
