Jackets re-sign Comeau
TheFourthPeriod.com

The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed forward Blake Comeau to a one-year contract worth $1 million.

Comeau, 27, was acquired by the Blue Jackets on April 3, 2013 from the Calgary Flames in exchange for a fifth round pick in the 2013 NHL Draft.

He registered six goals, six assists and 20 penalty minutes in 42 games during the 2012-13 season.

"Blake is a dependable two-way forward who combines physical play with ability in the offensive zone," said Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen. "We liked what we saw from him at the end of last season as he fit in very well with our team and we’re pleased to have signed him to this extension."

A native of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, Comeau was New York's second pick, 47th overall, of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
