The native of Osterhaninge, Sweden has been limited to just 41 games in the last two seasons due to various nagging injuries.
"Of course it is fun to play hockey again," Huselius told Swedish newspaper Expressen. "I hope to help the team even though I am aware that it will take some time to get in full game shape."
Huselius grew up watching AIK and expressed his excitement to play for them.
"I was AIK fan as a kid and have watched many games at Hovet (arena)," he said. "So obviously it's a bit special to represent AIK."
Huselius' contract is believed to be for the remainder of this season, though it's unclear if it includes an opt-out clause to allow him to pursue signing with an NHL team in the even the lockout ends.
