Prospal signs in Czech Extraliga

Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Vinny Prospal has jumped on board with HC Mountfield of the Czech Extraliga, joining four other NHLers.

The team also announced today the signings of Phoenix Coyotes center Martin Hanzal and Ottawa Senators left wing Milan Michalek.

In September, HC Mountfield also signed Boston Bruins defenseman Andrew Ference and former Blue Jackets defenseman Radek Martinek.

Prospal, a native of Ceske Budejovice, where HC Mountfield plays, collected 16 goals and 39 assists for 55 points in 82 games with Columbus last season.

The 37-year-old joins Blue Jackets teammates Sergei Bobrovsky and Nikita Nikitin to sign overseas during the NHL lockout.
