Foligno signs three-year contract

The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed restricted free agent left wing Nick Foligno to a three-year, $9.15 million contract.

Foligno, 24, was acquired from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for defenseman Marc Methot on July 1.

In 82 games with the Senators this past season, Foligno registered 15 goals and 32 assists for 47 points, along with 124 penalty minutes.

Over five seasons in the NHL, all with Ottawa, Foligno has accumulated 61 goals and 87 assists for 148 points, and 299 penalty minutes, in 351 games.

Foligno, who was a restricted free agent, was originally drafted 28th overall by the Sens in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
