Nash's list won't change

During a conversation with TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie, Nash's agent, Joe Resnick, spoke out for the first time since the team put the captain on the trade block.

"We're hopeful that a deal can get done prior to the trade deadline that is fair and equitable for the Columbus Blue Jackets," Resnick told McKenzie. "However, if a deal is not reached, then the list of acceptable teams will not change at a later date."

There has been talk that the Jackets, unless they get the price they're asking for before Monday's deadline, will wait until the summer to get a deal done when more clubs would be able to get into the picture and bid on Nash, who does not want to wait until the summer for a trade.

The 27-year-old, who has a no-movement clause and can veto any trade, gave management a short list of teams he'd be willing to move to before Monday's deadline and Resnick mentioned that the list won't change this summer.

The New York Rangers are believed to be the front-runners to acquire Nash, while the Toronto Maple Leafs, Nashville Predators, Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks have also showed strong interest.

However, the Rangers and the Maple Leafs are not likely to give up roster defensemen to acquire the top-six forward, which could cause the stalemate to hold out until the Jackets lower the price down.
