Blue Jackets, Flyers talking trade
TheFourthPeriod.com

The Columbus Blue Jackets and Philadelphia Flyers are involved in what appears to be serious trade discussions, though it's unclear if Rick Nash is the centerpiece of their talks.

Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson and Sr. Advisor of Hockey Operations Craig Patrick met with Flyers GM Paul Holmgren and Sr. VP Bob Clarke for roughly 45 minutes today prior to the Flyers game against Pittsburgh.

It is being widely reported that Nash could be the point of discussion, though that is pure speculation at this point.

It's uncertain if Nash would accept a trade to Philadelphia, who would have to include at least one of Sean Couturier, Brayden Schenn and/or James van Riemsdyk as part of a large package.

The Blue Jackets, however, are shopping several other players, including defenseman Fedor Tyutin and forwards Antoine Vermette, Sammy Pahlsson, R.J. Umberger and Jeff Carter.

Holmgren is looking for another defenseman and was reportedly interested in Tyutin earlier in the season.
