Umberger on IR
TheFourthPeriod.com

The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward R.J. Umberger on the club's injured reserve as he recovers from concussion symptoms, according to the Associated Press.

The 29-year-old took a hit to the head from Anaheim Ducks forward Jean-Francois Jacques on Jan. 8 and has been listed as week-to-week.

No timetable has been set for his return although the winger was reportedly in the locker room on Tuesday working on his sticks to be around teammates.

After missing both contests over the weekend and Tuesday's game, his consecutive games played streak ended at 291.

In 42 games with the Jackets this season, Umberger has collected seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points.
