Brassard continues to be dangled
TheFourthPeriod.com

With plenty of trade talk in the NHL these days, there's a strong belief that the Columbus Blue Jackets will be among the busiest teams between now and the Feb. 27 trade deadline.

The Blue Jackets have several players they're expected to move, including the likes of forwards Derick Brassard, Antoine Vermette and Vinny Prospal, and defenseman Fedor Tyutin.

Wingers Kristian Huselius and R.J. Umberger are also believed to be available, though they're both currently battling injuries.

According to a source close to the team, the Blue Jackets have been involved in trade discussions with the Montreal Canadiens, primarily involving Brassard, though it's unclear if a deal is imminent.

Unconfirmed talk Thursday night suggested Brassard and Umberger were being discussed in a package involving the Habs' Michael Cammalleri, who was traded tonight to Calgary, but Umberger's latest concussion nixed a deal.

The Canadiens are among the teams interested in Brassard, who has also attracted the eye of the Flames, Toronto Maple Leafs, Dallas Stars and Florida Panthers.
