Blue Jackets looking to complete major shakeup?

Columbus Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson is trying to pull the trigger on a blockbuster move that could significantly change the look of his team.

According to several published reports, the Blue Jackets are interested in trading almost everyone on their roster, excluding the likes of captain Rick Nash, winger R.J. Umberger and top prospect Ryan Johansen.

Sources have told TFP that Howson has been actively shopping right wing Jakub Voracek for several weeks in an attempt to acquire an older, more NHL-proven offensive forward.

It's believed the Blue Jackets are also entertaining the thought of dealing away goaltender Steve Mason, though such an impactful move might be made in the off-season.

Forwards Nikita Filatov, Kristian Huselius, Ethan Moreau and Antoine Vermette are also being dangled as trade bait, along with defenseman Jan Hedja.

Howson wants to acquire a first-line forward to play alongside Nash, or a top-two defenseman to solidify the backend. The Atlanta Thrashers are open to the idea of moving rearguard Zach Bogosian for an offensive threat.
