Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson admits that trade talks are starting to increase as the trade deadline quickly approaches, the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Howson is expected to be very active within the 63-hour window from when the Olympic roster freeze lifts and the Mar. 3 trade deadline takes affect at 3pm ET.
According to the Dispatch, the Blue Jackets are likely to trade forward Raffi Torres and defenseman Milan Jurcina for draft picks and prospects, and at least four teams have inquired about each player.
"We are certainly listening, listening to what the other teams needs are and what we see our needs to be," Howson told the paper. "The conversations are getting more frequent and more intense."
Veteran left wing Fredrik Modin has been asked to waive his no-trade clause, however the Dispatch claims he hasn't attracted as much attention as Torres.
