Blue Jackets center Michael Peca wants to re-sign with the club and negotiations appear to be ongoing, reports the Columbus Dispatch.
"I'd like at least a two-year deal," Peca told the paper. "I'd like to grow and be a part of something, not just a short-term piece."
To date, the Blue Jackets have traded away Nikolai Zherdev, Dan Fritsche and Gilbert Brule, and brought in Raffi Torres, Kristian Huselius, R.J. Umberger, Fedor Tyutin and Christian Backman.
"Scott [Howson, Blue Jackets GM] has done all of that and more this summer, in my opinion," Peca said.
