Liles next to be traded?

Having traded captain Eric Staal and winger Kris Versteeg on Sunday, the Carolina Hurricanes are now shifting their focus to dealing defenseman John-Michael Liles.

Liles, 35, is in the final year of his contract and can become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

He's making $3.875 million this season, and the Hurricanes cannot retain any more contracts, so whoever acquires him will have to take his entire contract.

Hurricanes forward Riley Nash, a pending unrestricted free agent, is also on the trade block and could also be moved by today's 3pm ET trade deadline.

The Hurricanes are also taking calls on left wing Jeff Skinner and center Jordan Staal.
