Hurricanes continue to shop Ward

The Carolina Hurricanes continue to actively shop, and entertain calls for, goaltender Cam Ward, who has two-years left on his contract.

Ward, 30, owns a no-trade clause and will have to approve any trade the team tries to complete.

The Calgary Flames and Winnipeg Jets both reportedly expressed interest in Ward, though it's unclear how those trade talks have progressed, if at all.

TFP first reported on Jan. 15 that Ward would be willing to accept a change of scenery.

Though his salary cap hit is $6.3 million, Ward will earn $6.7 million next season and $6.8 million in 2015-16.

In limited action this season, Ward posted a 10-12-6 record with the Hurricanes, along with a 3.06 goals-against-average and a .898 save percentage.
