Canes interested in Semin
TheFourthPeriod.com

According to the Raleigh News & Observer, Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford has admitted to holding conversations with winger Alexander Semin's camp about potentially signing with Carolina.

While the Canes are interested in acquiring the services of the Russian sniper, Rutherford is reportedly only looking to sign the 28-year-old to a one-year contract, similar to the one he agreed to last season with the Washington Capitals.

Semin is expected to be looking for a more significant role on the ice and a raise from the $6.7 million he earned last year.

In 77 games with the Caps last season, Semin collected 21 goals and 33 assists for 54 points.
