Canes looking to move Kaberle

Many rumors have suggested that the Hurricanes have been looking to make changes to strengthen the team, although no specific player had been thrown under the trade bus.

However, according to Luke DeCock of the Raleigh News & Observer, the Canes might already have an idea on which puck-moving defenseman they could use as trade bait to acquire a top-six forward.

Tomas Kaberle, who was acquired during the off-season, has struggled to make adjustments to the new defensive system implemented by Canes assistant coach Dave Lewis.

"Desperate to move Kaberle. Would they move McBain? I wouldn't. Need to get a comparable young forward back. Already have those," DeCock posted on his Twitter account.

The 33-year-old signed a three-year, $12.75 million contract with the Canes after winning a Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins last June.

In 17 games with the Hurricanes this season, Kaberle has tallied four assists.
