Hurricanes looking to move players
TheFourthPeriod.com

The Carolina Hurricanes, sitting last in the Eastern Conference, are trying to trade a number of their impending free agents, reports a published report.

According to the Ottawa Sun, defensemen Aaron Ward, Joe Corvo and Niclas Wallin could all be on the move this season.

Wallin, however, has a no-trade clause and would have to approve any deal the Hurricanes make.

Veteran forward Ray Whitney could also be dealt at some point this year, however he also has a no-trade clause.

The Sun suggests Whitney will likely attract interest from a number of Stanley Cup contenders.

It definitely wouldn't surprise me to see the Hurricanes very active in the trade market this season. GM Jim Rutherford has been trying to make a move since the season started. His objectives may have changed since then, but he's still trying. -- David Pagnotta
