Hurricanes trade Adams to Chicago

  The Carolina Hurricanes have traded right wing Craig Adams to the Chicago Blackhawks for a conditional pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Adams, 30, has earned two goals and three assists, and 34 penalty minutes, in 40 games this season.

Born in Seria, Brunei, but raised in Calgary, Adams has played in 427 career NHL games, all with Carolina, totaling 33 goals, 44 assists and 337 penalty minutes.

He was originally drafted in the ninth round, 223rd overall, of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
