With the NHL trade deadline less than one month away, the Buffalo Sabres could be fairly active if they decide they are going to be sellers in the marketplace.
The Sabres have several pending unrestricted free agents on the roster, led by captain Brian Gionta, and defensemen Dmitry Kulikov and Cody Franson.
Gionta, Kulikov and Franson could all be shipped out for prospects and draft picks if the right offers come across Sabres GM Tim Murray's desk by the March 1 trade deadline.
Gionta, however, owns a no-trade clause, which comes with a five-team trade list, something he might be willing to expand upon if it led to a trade to a top contender.
Sabres defenseman Josh Gorges' name has popped up in trade speculation, as well, and while he is currently injured, he's expected to return to the lineup in the near future.
