The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed restricted free agent forward Tyler Ennis to a five-year, $23 million contract.

Ennis, 25, scored a career-high 21 goals and added 23 assists for 43 points in 80 games with the Sabres last season.

The Edmonton native made his Sabres debut on Nov. 14, 2009 and has amassed career totals of 69 goals, 97 assists and 166 points through 267 regular-season games.

He will earn $7.3 million in salary next season, though his annual salary cap hit is $4.6 million. His salary will drop to $4.75 million in 2015-16, and then he will earn $3.65 million in each of the final three seasons of his new deal.
