Sabres re-sign Hodgson to 6-year contract

The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed restricted free agent center Cody Hodgson to a six-year contract, TFP was the first to report.

Hodgson, 23, was coming his three-year, entry-level contract where he had an annual salary cap hit of $1.667 million, much of which was bonuses-laden.

He recorded 15 goals and 19 assists for 34 points last year with the Sabres.

The Toronto native has played in 139 career NHL regular-season games with the Canucks and Sabres and has accumulated 35 goals and 42 assists for 77 points.

Hodgson was originally drafted 10th overall by the Canucks in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
