Enroth signs two-year extension

The Buffalo Sabres have signed goaltender Jhonas Enroth to a two-year contract extension worth $2.5 million.

Enroth, 24, was scheduled to become a restricted free agent July 5.

This past season, Enroth posted career-best marks for save percentage (.919) and goals-against average (2.60) while recording a 4-4-2 record through 12 games played.

In his final six starts of the season, he notched a record of 4-1-1 with a 1.47 goals-against-average and a .956 save percentage.

The native of Stockholm, Sweden, was selected by the Sabres in the second round (46th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

In his four NHL seasons, all with Buffalo, Enroth has appeared in 53 games, compiling a 21-18-10 record with a .914 career save percentage and a 2.72 goals-against-average.
