Pominville close to being traded?

Buffalo seems to be the center of the university right now, with the NHL trade deadline days away, and they could be closer to shipping their captain out of town.

The Sabres are willing to move just about anybody on their roster, including captain Jason Pominville, goalie Ryan Miller and sniper Thomas Vanek.

According to Patrick Caisse of TVA Sports in Montreal, the Sabres have asked Jason Pominville to prepare a list of eight teams he will not accept a trade to.

Several teams, including the San Jose Sharks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks and Los Angeles Kings have expressed an interest in Pominville.

It's unclear if Sabres GM Darcy Regier is close to a deal, though talks are expected to pick up significantly over the next 24 hours.

The Sabres are expected to trade veteran defenseman Robyn Regehr before Wednesday's 3pm ET, noon PT, deadline, while winger Drew Stafford is also on the block.
