Sabres, Ennis still negotiating
TheFourthPeriod.com

Despite showing some interest in unrestricted free agent Shane Doan, the Sabres are focused on signing center Tyler Ennis to a new contract, the Buffalo News reports.

Ennis, 21, is a restricted free agent.

"We spoke with his agent yesterday (Tuesday) and I think that will continue today," Sabres GM Darcy Regier told the News. "That's always a hard one [to say how close the sides are]. Close. . . . The positive is it's moving in the right direction."

Meanwhile, the News also reported the Sabres have not met with Doan, who has already visited the New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks and Philadelphia Flyers.

"No, we have not met with [Doan], and I don't know whether we will meet with him," Regier said. "We're monitoring the situation, and I'd leave it at that."
