Roy could gather lots of interest

Buffalo Sabres forward Derek Roy could catch the eye of several teams in the upcoming weeks if GM Darcy Regier decides to move the 28-year old center, the Ottawa Sun reports.

Regier has been looking to acquire size up front and could choose to deal Roy prior to the trade deadline.

Roy holds a $4.5 million cap hit through the next season and could become a significant upgrade on the second line for teams on the market.

The Chicago Blackhawks and the Los Angeles Kings might investigate about Roy in order to add a scorer to their lineup.

In 47 games with the Sabres this season, Roy has tallied nine goals and 16 assists for 25 points.
