The Buffalo Sabres have signed unrestricted free agent forward Mike Grier to a one-year contract.

Grier, 34, had 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points in 62 games with the San Jose Sharks last season.

Grier played in Buffalo from 2004-06, after being acquired in a trade from Washington on March 9, 2004 in exchange for Jakub Klepis.

The Detroit native has accumulated 147 goals and 198 assists for 345 points in 914 career games with Edmonton, Washington, Buffalo and San Jose.

Grier was originally drafted by St. Louis (219th overall) in the 1993 Entry Draft.
