Sabres to trade for top talent?

TheFourthPeriod.com

As the Sabres look for ways to bolster their roster and strengthen their playoff chances, they may be more inclined to pursue the trade route as opposed to luring free agents.

The Buffalo News reported on its website that the Sabres have had trouble recruiting top-tier players to the team via the free agent market, which might prompt GM Darcy Regier into trading away assets for a better player.

The Sabres are believed to be in the market for a top-six forward and a mobile defenseman.

It's believed the team could pursue the likes of free agent forwards Erik Cole and Nik Antropov, and defenseman Dennis Seidenberg.
