Campbell tired of trade talk

TheFourthPeriod.com

Sabres defenseman Brian Campbell scoffed at a report that he was close to signing a new deal and seems tired of the speculation surrounding his future in Buffalo.

On Tuesday, the Ottawa Sun claimed Campbell was close to inking an extension with the Sabres, but Campbell called that report "false."

Campbell is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer and if the Sabres cannot sign him before the trade deadline, he could be traded.

"It's not easy [dealing with the rumors], and I can't sit here and say I'm having fun with it," Campbell told the Buffalo News. "I wish it wasn't me, to be honest with you."
