The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed unrestricted free agent Teppo Numminen to a one-year, $2.6 million contract.
Numminen, who turned 39 on Tuesday, notched two goals and 27 assists for 29 points, with a plus-17 rating in 79 games with the Sabres last season.
The native of Tampere, Finland has played in 1,314 career NHL games with Winnipeg/Phoenix, Dallas and Buffalo, and has accumulated 115 goals and 505 assists for 620 points, along with 491 penalty minutes and a career rating of plus-60.
He was originally drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the second-round (29th overall) in 1986.
