The Boston Bruins are working the phone lines, but GM Don Sweeney told reporters on Tuesday that as of this evening, a move is not close.
The Bruins have been in talks for a top-six forward and a depth defenseman, as well having continued dialogue with the Colorado Avalanche about left wing Gabriel Landeskog, but it does not sound like Sweeney is confident a trade is on the horizon.
"Nothing imminent," he said. "There have been a lot of talks, exploring some situations that could possibly help."
The Avs have asked about defenseman Brandon Carlo as part of a package for Landeskog, but the Bruins have declined that request.
"Most conversations revolve around prospects who we feel are going to be a big part of our organization and we're not going to deviate," Sweeney said.
