Bruins looking for top-six winger
TheFourthPeriod.com

The Boston Bruins are in the market for a top-six winger, but are simply exploring their options as a trade is not believed to be imminent.

Multiple media outlets have reported that the Bruins have expressed interest in Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog, but talks fizzled and there does not appear to be a fit.

Bruins GM Don Sweeney continues to evaluate the marketplace as his team battles for a playoff spot in the Atlantic Division.

The Bruins have salary cap space to play with, and could add up to $7.5 million in salaries, pro-rated, to date.

It's unclear if the Bruins will look to add a pending unrestricted free agent to the roster prior to the March 1 trade deadline, and those decisions will undoubtedly be predicated on the club's position in the standings.

Meanwhile, as TFP Boston Correspondent Shawn Hutcheon reported last month, the Bruins are dangling Ryan Spooner as trade bait and he could be packaged in a deal for an upgrade either at the forward level or on the blueline.
