Bruins, Iginla continue to talk
The Boston Bruins continue to negotiate with pending unrestricted free agent right wing Jarome Iginla and hope to have a deal done before the free agent market opens.
Iginla, 36, is looking for a two-year contract, however the Bruins appear only interested in giving him a one-year deal.
While talks are ongoing, the Bruins may have to offer a higher salary on a one-year agreement in order to keep Iginla in Boston.
In 78 games with the Bruins this past season, Iginla registered 30 goals and 31 assists for 61 points.
Drafted 11th overall by the Dallas Stars in 1995, Iginla has played in 1,310 career NHL regular-season games with the Calgary Flames, Pittsburgh Penguins and Bruins, and has accumulated 560 goals and 607 assists for 1,167 points, as well as 887 penalty minutes.
