Iginla signs with Boston

The Boston Bruins have signed unrestricted free agent right wing Jarome Iginla to a one-year, $6 million contract.

Iginla, 36, was almost traded to the Bruins during the season, but vetoed the deal and opted to accept a trade to the Pittsburgh Penguins instead.

In 44 games with the Calgary Flames and Penguins this past season, Iginla registered 14 goals and 19 assists for 33 points.

In 1,232 career NHL regular-season games, Iginla has accumulated 530 goals and 576 assists for 1,106 points, and 840 penalty minutes.

Iginla was originally drafted 11th overall by the Dallas Stars in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.
