Bruins won't trade goalie Subban

Bruins goaltender Malcolm Subban has been the subject of several trade rumors lately, and Boston GM Peter Chiarelli finally stood up against all the banter.

The Bruins have been involved in in-depth trade talks with the Calgary Flames about Jarome Iginla, and Subban's name has popped up in trade talks.

"I can tell you this: I'm not trading Malcolm Subban," Chiarelli said during his weekly appearance on 98.5 The Sports Hub's "Toucher and Rich" show. "He's young. He's a very good goalie prospect and I see him in our future and being a big part of our future.

"We've got some goalie depth, but I'm telling you I'm not trading Malcolm Subban. There are other players, and we've got a fairly well-stocked cupboard of prospects, but I'm not trading Malcolm Subban."

Subban, 19, was drafted 24th overall by the Bruins in the 2012 NHL Draft.

The Bruins are loaded between the pipes, with Tuukka Rask leading the charge. Chiarelli plans on having contract negotiations with Rask after the trade deadline.
