Bruins pushing hard for Iginla
TheFourthPeriod.com

Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli is looking to make a big move before next week's trade deadline, and it's no secret that he'd like to acquire Calgary Flames captain Jarome Iginla.

With the Pittsburgh Penguins getting a head start on their competition having already acquired Brenden Morrow and Douglas Murray, the Bruins are itching to make a move to upgrade their roster.

Iginla is willing to waive his no-movement clause to the Bruins, as well as the Penguins, Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings.

As TFP previously reported, the Flames want a young NHL-proven player or top-level prospect, another good prospect and a high draft pick in exchange for Iginla.

The Flames are believed to be considering obtaining a young goalie as part of a package for Iginla, and Bruins netminder Malcolm Subban could be included in a deal.

Flames veteran goalie Miikka Kiprusoff has one-year remaining on his current contract and the team is willing to move him for the right price, which is why Subban, who was drafted 24th overall last summer, could become a vital piece to any deal.
