Boston Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask has signed with HC Plzen of the Czech Extraliga and will play their during the NHL lockout.
Rask, 25, becomes the 72nd NHL player to sign overseas during the lockout and the 19th to join the Czech Extraliga.
In 23 games with the Bruins last season, Rask posted an 11-8-3 record with a 2.05 goals-against-average and a .929 save percentage.
Rask is the sixth Bruin to sign overseas, joining Tyler Seguin (Swiss National A League), Anton Khudobin (KHL), Andrew Ference (Czech Extraliga), Dennis Seidenberg (Deutsche Eishockey Liga, Germany) and Rich Peverley (SM-Liiga, Finland).
