Savard dealing with trade talk

Boston Bruins center Marc Savard has had some difficulties dealing with his name being tossed around the trade block, the 33-year-old told the Ottawa Sun.

In an interview with the Sun, Savard admitted that it hasn't been easy hearing his name in a plethora of trade talk after signing a seven-year, $28 million extension last December.

"They hurt me a little bit just because I went to Boston and I helped to build that team back up," Savard told the paper. "Since I've been there, I've really tried to work hard with the young guys and being a core player. I was really focused on staying there for the rest of my career. To hear all this stuff this summer bothered me inside more than anything else."

The Bruins have been actively shopping Savard, with many reports indicating that he'll be dealt by the start of the season.

Savard, meanwhile, isn't sure what to expect, but right now he's only concerned with helping his team.

"Right now I'm a Bruin and that's the way it is," he said. "(But) it's been tough."

In 41 games with the Bruins last season, Savard registered 10 goals and 23 assists for 33 points.
